From nanomaterials a billionth of a meter in size to global climate dynamics, EPA scientists are investigating every scale of our environment and the links between environment and human health. EPA conducts research that addresses the highest priority science needs of the nation. The work performed by EPA scientists and their research partners improves the quality of the air we breathe, the water that sustains us, and the land upon which we live.
Why We Participate
We participate to share information about environmental protection with ISEF participants and encourage the young innovators to apply science and engineering to solving environmental challenges. We recognize one student, whose work demonstrates a commitment to environmental sustainability and stewardship, with the EPA Patrick H. Hurd Sustainability Award.
